20 Years German Unity

The President of the Bundestag, Dr. Norbert Lammert, held a celebration reception in front
of the Reichstag to mark the 20th anniversary of Germany’s reunification. The ceremony’s program featured young artists from all over Germany who were selected by the Department
for Special Projects. The dramatic composition of the event was devised by Wolf Kühnelt, Cultural Projects Berlin.

The festive climax of the evening - comprised of a fireworks display and the European Anthem performed by the symphony orchestra Thuringian STÜBAphilharmonie - was attended by the political leadership, 1036 invited guests as well as thousands of Berliners and visitors to the city.

The German TV Channel ZDF broadcast live from a glass studio at the site of the event.
