Opening of the International German Gymnastics Festival 2009

The International German Gymnastics Festival opened with a spectacular hour-long show
on the River Main.

The stretch of river from the Hohlbein Jetty to the Lower Main Bridge was turned into a stage and, with lasers and video, a multimedia show was projected on to a wall of water 200 metres long and 40 metres high. In front of it, aerial acrobats and jet-ski riders performed prodigious stunts on and above the water, and Spanish artists formed breathtaking human pyramids.
